Patrick and his crew did an amazing job for us in the Fall of 2019. They were a pleasure to work with each step of the way. He was always courteous and prompt and showed up when he said he would. We had received four other bids and Patrick was the only one who was able to understand our vision and offer a perfect solution for the slope in our backyard. We didn't want just retaining walls and we didn't want to take out our mature trees. He came up with a plan that gave us two retaining walls (one is a seating wall) with a pathway in between and connecting to two spacious patios nestled among the trees. There are stairs and built-in LED lights and it’s so pretty! He also added a paver path from the patio on our slope to our existing stamped concrete patio with a small paver floor under the gazebo. We liked his work so much that we had him come out in the Spring of 2020 and add another paver patio for our Catio. They were able to tie it all in with the existing pavers and concrete and if all flows together so nicely! Once we turned our sprinklers on, we noticed a drip line had been cut. Patrick sent his crew out immediately and repaired it good as new! We highly recommend Outdoor Innovations by Patrick Richie.

The crew was receptive to suggestions and did a great job removing our old concrete pond boom (which was cracked and leaking) to put in a new alpine type pond with a waterfall. Then they installed a patio with pavers and a fire pit!

Outdoor Innovations did a great job building a retaining wall, expanding our sprinkler system, and updating our backyard landscaping. Rodrigo and his team were professional and responsive to all our requests, ensuring the project was completed on time. Our backyard is now the perfect place to relax.

I recently contracted with Patrick and Outdoor Innovations to complete a backyard project at my home in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver. Patrick and his team helped me develop a great plan, which was important because I did not have any ideas when we first met. For any changes that I made during construction, Patrick discussed the impact on the budget with me before any work was done, and he documented the changes along the way. Patrick and his crew just finished our back yard and we couldn't be happier. Our project included installing pavers, building a retaining wall, installing all new sod and adding areas of rock and mulch. From the beginning, they were very professional and easy to work with. The designer, Jared, presented us with a complete computer generated plan so we could visualize exactly how our back yard would look. Patrick then worked with us to make it work within our price point. The crew that actually did the work could not have been better. They were hard working, polite and fun to be around. We wanted to make our backyard into more useable space, so I scheduled multiple bids with local companies. Patrick was the only one with the vision to complete the project. He walked us through every detail and offered a reasonable price for the work. The weather forced our project to be delayed but when his crew finally came, they were amazing. They worked hard and fast! Our project involved adding a large retaining wall, a massive amount of leveling (21 tons of dirt to be exact), irrigation and all new sod. They gave us a beautiful backyard within 4 days! I would highly recommend Outdoor Innovations for any landscaping projects!

I chose them because two diff gals used them, gone over to one person’s house for a BBQ and I thought his is so beautiful. Find out another friend used them and used to work with and never saw the project and knew that if she used them they had to be very good. This is what made me call them. Patrick is so personable and nice and easy to work with and really wants to accommodate you. When they started all the guys that work for him are really nice men and very polite. They left everything in pristine condition when they left and were really contentious. The work they did is absolutely beautiful. We are thrilled and so happy. So glad we did it. We had a group of people over and everyone just loved our project and they decided to use Outdoor Innovations. The patio was raised and now we have a great view of the pond and the lake behind our house. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I would definitely use them again.

We have hired Patrick Richie from Outdoor Innovations for two jobs; they replaced our front step and sidewalk with a paver patio. More recently they remade our side entrance to the back yard with a paver sidewalk and steps. We would rate them excellent. The work was professional and they would check with us on their progress. I’d like to tell you about our experience with Outdoor Innovations, owner Patrick Richie and the whole company and crew that has just recently transformed our backyard patio area into our dream space.

Our old redwood deck was rotting and we needed to replace it this season. After a trip to the home shows and various deck and patio showrooms around town we met with several deck and patio contractors here at our home. All the folks were nice and their ideas were good, but it just wasn’t what we had in mind.

Right from the first sit down meeting with Patrick, we felt that he understood what our “vision” of the project was. Other contractors that we had met with just didn’t “get it” and offered their suggestions and told us what couldn’t be done.

Patrick listened to us and then proceeded to sketch out almost exactly what we had only been thinking about for our project, and then told us that not only could it be done, but on-time and under the budget that we had in mind. The payments were required at logical project milestones and we always had a chance to weigh in on the design and timing of the project.

We went back and forth on the design and cost of the project. Patrick was up front with all the design elements, what they would cost and the timing of the project.

Once we agreed to terms it was easy. We were introduced to Ross and Jared and a work crew that would be consistently there every day from demo through the finishing touches on the landscape. They were all very polite, considerate of our neighbors and never started the construction noise too early or too late. These guys are not just paver and wall builders - we really felt like they cared about OUR project - and more than a few times we observed them going back over a cut or an angle on a paver that needed to be re-done, because they weren’t happy with it. All of them made substantial suggestions that improved the design as we went along.

The timing was great…avoiding a vacation trip we had planned and luckily it was finished before really cold winter weather rolled in.

We adjusted and stretched and innovated as we went….we moved entrances, revised staircases, enlarged the project, added lights, expanded a walkway and collectively came up with a patio area that Sue and I still look out at and wonder who put that gorgeous patio in OUR backyard.

Patrick called a week after the project was done to “just check in” and make sure everything was going well.

We couldn’t be happier with our new hardscape and we tell everyone we know and all who come to visit, what Outdoor Innovations did for us.

We hired Outdoor Innovations to have our concrete back patio re-done to paver stone. Patrick was amazing at helping us design and plan the project we wanted. Communication was great. I would highly recommend them.

Patrick Richie and the Outdoor Innovations team did a phenomenal job on our project. We reconstructed two walkways, two retaining walls and installed a patio with fire pit. Patrick worked with us collaboratively from design to material selection. He was understanding of our budget. Outdoor Innovations they were very comprehensive on how they handled everything from proposal to completion. Great communication, always showed up on time, worked very hard the entire time they were on site. Even though they have had to come back out to make minor updates, they have always been professional and helpful. They were overall fantastic to work with and very engaged throughout the entire process. There were always multiple people to talk to and it was an overall great experience.

When Patrick got started what he said he would do, he did. Patrick was there until the job was finished. It was great, the men working for him were wonderful and very very hard workers. Patrick went door to door to let all my neighbors know of the work being done around the home. The job went well, we are happy with it. I would definitely have him back. It was a nice experience and Patrick is a great guy. We went to a couple of the jobs prior to signing with him. We chose Outdoor Innovations based on what his other customers said about him. The Skinny: Patrick Richie listened to our needs, wants, and vision and came up with an interesting design that contained all the items we discussed and more. It included steps, seat walls, capped columns, a grill cubby, and lighting. He brought by samples and let us choose our materials and colors. He was flexible with any changes we made along the way and was sure to give us an immediate cost breakdown and amended contract. Once on the job, the crew stayed there until the project was finished. His friendly crew members were true craftsman who took great pride in their work, were swift workers, and cleaned up daily.

Outdoor Innovations headed by Patrick Richie did an extraordinary job at designing and building a state of the art outdoor fireplace and facility. We have thought about a project like this for years but could never "see" how the results would fit. This is an honest company, and top quality. The crew is very competent, and they are craftsmen. They built a patio, and they made sure it would have a gentle slope away from the house, and they took great pride in their workmanship. Each day they cleaned up the work site, and at the end of the job, they restored everything back to the way it was. They could not have done anything better. Patrick Richie is the owner, and he kept true to his bid. After the demolition, he looked at the site, and it was obvious that he had the homeowner's interest as the primary factor. Thus, he decided that my patio would look best with a shallow wall, so he did this, but he did not charge me anything more. It was very obvious that personal pride in his work is paramount, and that same personal pride carries over to his crew. My experience was textbook excellent. Everything was done on time, and it was always easy to get a hold of Patrick or Ross, his second in command. Like I said before, there really was nothing they could have improved upon.

In August 2016, I completed a large paver patio in SE metro Denver using Outdoor Innovations. Two raised decks had to be demolished and replaced with one ground level patio. The results were impressive. Two stairs were also constructed with pavers. Patrick Richie and Ross Butler and the team found creative solutions when unexpected problems arose during construction. The on-site construction team did an outstanding job, were very courteous and knew what they were doing. Patrick and Ross maintained excellent communications with me throughout the project. In May of 2016, after receiving 3 other bids, I contracted with Outdoor Innovations to demolish the existing front walkway and porch and to replace the path and porch with pavers including semi-circular steps to the front door. Additionally, to build a retaining wall in the front and 2 retaining walls in the back yard with a paver path from the driveway and steps leading down to the backyard. They completed the work in about 10 working days and the finished product turned out spectacular. I continue to draw rave reviews from neighbors and friends. In addition to the quality work, what I was most impressed with was the communication between the owner, Patrick Ritchie and I.--From the estimate process throughout the entire project, Patrick would answer the vast majority of my questions and concerns almost immediately or at the latest, within the hour of each text or call. Additionally, the work crew, headed by superintendent, Ross, was always polite and respectful to my wife and I, and always took the time to brief on what they were doing on a given day and what was to come next. Ross, also a partner/part owner in the company, added his own personal touches as the project developed to enhance the overall finished product. Patrick and his team did a great job in our yard. They built 4 retaining walls (with a lifetime guarantee) and were especially cautious with the safety aspect of them (for our kids).
