My second-floor wood deck was 50 years old and in terrible shape. The nails had popped up and the wood had splintered.
It was not safe to use. I had read good things about Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living and called them for a quote. Having previously researched pricing I was pleased the quote was well below other proposals. I couldn't be happier!

Hired RMOL to landscape front and back yards. Nick (owner) is wonderful to work with. He is attentive and thoughtful. His team did an excellent job bringing my landscape vision to life. I appreciate that I was able to give input throughout the process. The team was professional, friendly, and respectful. Highly recommend team lead Joe, who was also wonderful to work with. Do not hesitate one iota to use Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living. I used Nick and his team to do a complete gutting and rebuild of my back yard that comprised of landscaping, patio, deck, and walkway. When people say you get what you pay for, it's usually with a negative connotation. In my case, I got what I paid for and a whole lot more.
Throughout the project, I was continually impressed by how meticulous each of the landscape and deck crews were. You could tell they take exceptional pride in their work and are true craftsmen.
In addition to the exceptional work, the crews were respectful, hard-working, and a joy to work with. They were very responsive to making changes and getting input from us on the project.
One of the main reasons for going with RMOL is that Nick was willing to work within my cash flow situation. I explained to him, in the beginning, when I would have cash and how much. This worked out very well for me.
I will be using Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living when I look to redo my front yard sometime next year.

Nick Liput and his crew were fabulous to work with on my complete rebuild of my large deck. From the beginning bid, payment schedule, design and materials used, everything was detailed, documented, and accounted for. Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living (Nick - owner) worked with us to design our new backyard. We started with a dirt backyard at a new build home. His crew worked hard building us a new retaining wall, installing a sprinkler system, hauling rock, boulders, trees, bushes, soil, and sod. Not an easy task at all! They worked hard and were only delayed by uncooperative weather. We also had a large concrete patio, walkway, and a fire pit patio poured and installed. The concrete company that Nick hired was wonderful also! This company is top notch!! We absolutely love, love, love our new backyard outdoor living spaces! We highly recommend this company!

So far we have had our basement finished by Nick. He was very knowledgeable and led us in the right direction on all aspects of the project. He had a very reasonable option for a loan to complete it. We really didn't have a complete time in mind so we were able to closely watch and be involved in every upgrade made. His guys are very professional and taught me a lot during the process. We were so happy with the results with the basement we hired him to do some work in our yard. He had my yard completed, which was tearing out dead sod, installing artificial turf, rocks, adjusting sprinklers within a week of hiring him. That made us happy cause we wanted a yard done quickly and it was. Overall a very good experience so 5 stars in my books.

Great team of hard workers who work well as a coordinated team. Efficient use of staff and machines. Always on time and often worked late regardless of inclement weather. Cleaned up and left things tidy every day.
Managers were responsive to customer needs. The finished project design was well executed and rated successful by this customer.

RMOL transformed our small, old, dilapidated decks and patio into beautiful new outdoor living spaces!! Our redwood deck with pergola is more than 1/3 larger than the old deck (actually a large upper deck and smaller lower deck). The crew was diligent in keeping the space cleaned up, and their work and attention to detail was great!!! Nick Liput worked with us to make changes and find good workable solutions that allowed us to have everything we wanted. The paver crew kept everything cleaned up, were quite skilled, and were just as personable and professional as the deck crew. We have a bunch of dogs and needed to keep gates closed and everyone was diligent in making sure that they were secure -- even so, our dogs made a bunch of new friends!!! We LOVE our new decks and patio and can't imagine that they could have looked any better!!!!

Like the owner Nick’s proposal said , “We hope your project is completed in a way that surpasses your expectations.” Indeed it was and we were very pleased with the outcome which was done in a most skilled and timely manner . Clean up was done daily and the crew was very efficient. Therefore we highly recommend this company for any outdoor projects.

I had Nick complete 2 major jobs on my Chenango home -- a redesign and change to my front entrance (carpentry, roofing, painting, gutters) and a complete replacement/rebuild of a 120' wood retaining wall - replaced with a modern, retaining block gravity wall. Both jobs were completed with exceptional quality, good communication during the process and to my complete satisfaction. Although each job involved different crews, Nick and his team managed the entire process with through constant communication and excellent responsiveness -- which was very important to me. Overall, Nick was easy to deal with, was sensitive to my needs and was very fair with me when we encountered changes to my original plans. Since I engaged Nick for my second big project (the wall), it's evident that I would recommend him and use him again.

We have some friends who referred us to Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living based on the great work Nick and his crew did on their back patio and backyard. We met with Nick and were really impressed with him as he took the time to understand our needs and what we were trying to accomplish for our project. We have a new build and ended up hiring Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living to fully landscape our backyard, add an irrigation and drip system, install a walkway from the driveway to the back patio and extend our driveway. Nick also made some recommendations we never thought about. One example was the driveway extension. We originally only thought about using concrete however Nick showed us an option using paver bricks and we're glad he did as they added some style to the driveway and the front of the house.
Overall, we're extremely pleased with the work as the project went really well and exceeded our expectations. Communication and coordination was excellent and the project was completed in the time they said it would take.

We had a paver driveway installed in August 2019 in Highlands Ranch and the final product turned out terrific with quality workmanship and attention to detail. Our driveway is the talk of the neighborhood and certainly adds distinction to our property and home value. Thanks to everyone who provided us the detailed work we had hoped for.

Nick and company (RMOL) did all the landscape work on our last home, as well as the design work for same and French doors upstairs and downstairs. They also created an upper deck for us and executed a backyard Belgard outdoor living space that included gorgeous inlaid tile with a fireplace, fire pit and cooking space with a huge outdoor barbecue and cooler. Nick and co designed a space with trees and shrubbery that all blooms at different times so as to have an outdoor space that maintained itself! All we had to do was enjoy it, and we did!! When we sold our home, it was the major selling point AND it was very hard to leave. We would recommend RMOL for any project, big or small.

When we set out to plan our project we knew we'd narrow down to five- (5) companies to show onsite and interview for this large endeavor. The scope of our project was to replace the original 8'x8' main floor deck and similar cement slab for the walkout basement with much larger outdoor living and entertaining spaces. We knew we'd have a therapeutic hot tub as well to help with our active lifestyles. We narrowed down to Nick (owner) and Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living and Decks. Nick was on time for the visit and he made us feel the most comfortable with getting our project done right and within budget. With Nick, there was never any pressure and he gave us options to fit our budget. He also gave us the pros and cons of features and materials and, fielded any question we had along the way. I told Nick upfront that I was meticulous and he said they would have no concerns with that. Well, Nick and his company didn't let us down. What we ended up with is night and day different and now we spend much more time outdoors at our house. The finished project included both a deck and patio that are 3-4 times larger than what we had. They added a roof to cover 2/3rds of the deck as well. They added an 8'x10' (the largest the HOA would allow) custom-built shed with windows, doors and a workbench. Gutters were moved and replaced. We have a custom-built staircase with landings. We had electrical work done as well including separate panels for the shed and hot tub as well as additional outlets and lighting for the new roof. We opted for the beetle kill pine for the roof to give a great look. We opted for the kiln-dried deck posts and joists. We opted for composite decking and metal railing. Shingles matched the house for both the shed and roof addition. The paint was added to match the house as well. We also opted for a dry below system, which has been great based on how much we use the patio area with our dual swing chair and 6 people hot tub. We had a gas line added within the deck, which feeds the large grill upgrade we opted for. Nick's company handled the permits and inspections as well, which gave us peace of mind. We couldn't be happier. A very professional group of folks including the design, engineering, craftsmanship, quality, and customer service. Thanks a bunch, Nick to you and your company! We expect to use your services again for additional landscaping and a kitchen remodel. We recommend your services whenever we hear of folks needing any work done along these lines.

Nick, and everyone he has ever sent to our house on projects, are the finest professionals you could hope for! Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living has done several projects at our house: 1) Widened our driveway. 2) Added a stone wall and landscaped our front yard. 3) Replaced our back deck and added a stone patio, complete with gas fire pit. 4) Replaced vanity lights in all our bathrooms, pendant lights, chandelier, flush mount lighting, and upgraded all the switches and plugs throughout the house. 5) Repaired drywall and painted the entire interior of the house. We keep coming back to them because they do the best job, on time, on budget, neatly, and with the utmost care. We keep telling Nick this - every person who has been at our home to work has been of the highest character. I miss them when they are done! Nick Liput with Rocky Mountain Outdoor living has been marvelous to work with. We have been loyal long standing customers. Nick and his team have helped us design and build our dream deck. With what use to be a junky 200sq ft deck is now, 600sq ft and the main attraction of our home. Nick also helped us remodel our basement, even though he is not in the remodel industry. Nick did a great job...work load and weather put him behind on our schedule but once he started he completed in a timely manner. Being mechanically inclined myself Nick help walk me through steps of sealing the patio myself saving me money. I would recommend Nick and Have!

They did the landscaping for my backyard and we are having them put in my fence. They do incredible work. Very fancy backyard style and delivers the true meaning of outdoor living. My wife and I are very satisfied with the work they did. We will continue to use this company.

Nick Liput and his team were fabulous to work with. They built us a brick gas fireplace on our patio in July, 2017. They are true artisans/masons with attention to detail. They stopped at nothing to make sure we were happy and that the finished project was what we wanted. For example, while assembling the fireplace insert together, the work team noticed there were some minor flaws in the insert but did not want to install something that was not perfect. They cleaned-up their work area every day, and for the final clean-up, one could not tell that there was any construction in that area. In summary, the team was professional, knowledgeable, ethical and dependable which is hard to find these days. We are so happy with the finished product. For a custom fireplace, their price was excellent. We plan to contact them in the near future to do finish work for the front of our home. My husband and I used Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living for our back/front yard landscaping project in 2017. They extended our concrete back patio and put in a concrete walking path connecting the driveway in the front of the house to the back patio extension. They spruced up the backyard quite a bit by helping with some drainage issues we were having and they redefined the curvature of the sod and planted several trees and plants/bushes. They also had a new electrical subpanel installed for us to put in a hot tub. We had a couple of unbudgeted items pop up, but we were able to work some smaller items out of the project to offset this. Overall, we were very happy with the finished product. The work they did was very high quality, it looks great and we would definitely use them again for future landscaping projects!

Nick and his team at Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living put in new landscaping that consisted of a Belgard paver patio with retaining wall, wood fence, trees, boulders, fire pit and rock. They were very professional to deal with, provided great value and timely service. The quality of their work was outstanding. I would highly recommend them. They were terrific to deal with!

I recently had an addition put on my house (Clean Cut Contractors - another TDL member), and when it was finished it was more than obvious that my whole backyard and side yard needed a makeover. As long as I had them here I had them take care of a list of things that really needed to be done. I had them tear out about 60' feet of fence that I shared with a neighbor and rebuild it to privacy height, they regraded the area around my foundation that wasn't affected by the construction. They leveled the water meter and sprinkler controls on the side of the house, and put in an entire new sprinkler system in the backyard. They regraded and resodded the entire back yard, added custom concrete edging, built a two tier garden with brick walls, and added additional drip systems to those beds. They cleaned out the old mulch and gravel and put down new rock. In the side yard they regraded again, added mulch, transplanted iris from my mom's house and then added a tree in the backyard. It all looks fantastic, and it was exactly what I wanted. They completed it ahead of schedule, and on budget. I plan to have them back in the next few months to redo my front yard as well. I highly recommend them.

Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living built out a beautiful paver patio including a paver bench and gas fire pit for us. The crews were always polite, and clean. They would take time to share with me what they are doing, and why they were doing it. It was an outstanding process, and a great team. The entire family was pleased with the result, and use it as often as we can.

Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living did an outdoor patio space, custom cedar pergola and re-sodded the backyard, added sprinkler heads where they lacked. They did a great job, explained design considerations for the materials used, the process, etc. The most important for me was a landscaper that asked what I wanted before asking for a budget. Many landscapers ask for a budget first, then give you a proposal for 150% of your budget. These guys work a design and modify based on budget, which seems to be a better business plan. Nick, Patrick and the rest of their team did an amazing job on our patio. We met with Nick at our home to discuss our concept of a patio. Nick took measurements, input to types of stones, grills, pizza ovens, etc. Within a week, we had an estimate, drawings and timeline. The team was led by Patrick and were extremely courteous and professional. They were on time everyday and kept us informed of progress. We made a few changes along the way and it wasn't a problem. Our patio is beautiful! We had a built in grill/kitchen included. sitting walls, lighting and steps to the open space. Many of our neighbors, friends and family have enjoyed the benefits of food, cocktails and laughter. We get so many compliments and requests on who built our patio. I've referred many to Rocky Mountain Outdoor for their patio project.

As we approached the closing of our new home we met with several landscaping companies to evaluate our options for our challenging lot. Each company had their own perspective and pushed what they focused on the most regardless if the proposal made sense given the challenging slope. Additionally, several of the companies charged high fees just to get a visual rendering of their proposals. This was not the case with Rocky Mountain Lawn & landscape. When we met with the founder of the company, Nick Liput, it was obvious that he understood the challenges associated with such severe elevation changes of the lot. Additionally, he had no issue with providing a 3D rendering of his vision and made several adjustments at no charge to make sure our visions were aligned. He did an excellent job of taking our vision, expanding on it and suggesting ideas we had not thought of. Because of Nick's upfront approach, vision, and reasonable pricing, we decided to contract with his company. We had a specific timeline and Nick's crew set to work to meet our goal. His company has a couple of crews to draw from and the project managers are very hands on and monitor the crews to insure work is done to their quality expectations. Patrick and Jeremy, the project managers, were extremely nice and made us very comfortable that they cared about delivering a great final product. All members of the crew were pleasant and respectful. Although Rocky Mountain Lawn & Landscape is a relatively small company, they seem to have made the right investments in equipment. Because they are a small company you felt that you had truly personalized service. Because I have a home office it was easy to monitor the progress of the project and watch the development efforts. It was apparent that they were meticulous and strove for quality. Proper compression of the soil, wall re-enforcements, leveling, etc. were constantly checked and verified. With any project of this size there are of course some hiccups and challenges. Each of these challenges were addressed to our satisfaction. Never did we ever hear a complaint or pushback if we asked for a reasonable change. They even assisted with doing some minor work outside the project scope. Though the project duration was about a week longer then projected, I was pleased with the time-line as some days were lost due to inclement weather and scheduling conflicts. We were always impressed with their attitude and desire to make the final product something that we AND Rocky Mountain Lawn & Landscape would be proud of. I would highly recommend that you put Rocky Mountain Lawn & Landscape on your personal list of contractors who can deliver on your vision.

They were wonderful. They did a really nice job. They were clean and prompt. They got done in 3-1/2 days when he had said it probably would be 4.

Nick helped us renovate our backyard. It was outdated and not a place we wanted to spend time in. When Nick came to visit the site he was very professional and took all of our ideas and requests into consideration. He returned with an outstanding drawing and bid in a very short amount of time. The work was done quickly and the products were of high quality. The work is definitely something that will last for a long time to come.
