I couldn't have asked for a better overall experience, my wife and I love our new deck. Jim gave me a timely detailed estimate, offered recommendations on materials and hardware, and a timeline/schedule. He also explained potential building code issues I may have for my city. Jim's crew was professional, and their quality of work was top notch. The job site was kept clean each day, and they completed the job on time based on the schedule Jim presented up front. The overall price for my project was very fair, as I got a number of quotes prior to selecting HB Contracting. I would highly recommend Jim and HB Contracting for any deck project.

I called on a last-minute decision to build some custom outdoor cedar plank planter boxes that were not run of the mill. James was great, he fit me in quickly, did it in one day and the workmanship is excellent.

Jim was running a little late, but called early to let me know. Then when he arrived, he realized the shingle color he had did not match my roof very well, so instead of just putting them up anyway, he went to get the correct color. Very professional and reasonably priced. Would recommend him!

HB Contracting has done an all-around terrific job replacing my asphalt shingle roof. I got my quote soon after Jim's visit, and it was in the range of what I wanted to pay. Jim and his crew arrived when they were scheduled to arrive. They kept working as long as they could during the day, and they worked the weekend to get my roof done before the next snow storm came through. They really hustled to get it done while the weather held out. The roof looks fabulous! The shingles we picked out really work well with the house, and the quality of work is definitely there. I highly recommend HB Contracting.

Jim came within an hour after we called and gave us an estimate. The other contractor we talked to said he was coming and didn’t come or call. Jim came the next week and fixed the roof. No rain yet but he said he will come back and check after the next big rain. Very professional.

Jim Hoyt is extremely knowledgeable about general construction issues as well as roofing. In addition to doing a great job on the roof itself, he was creative and flexible in solving our attic ventilation and skylight issues. Since Jim did most of the work himself (with one assistant) we knew it was being done right. Excellent quality workmanship, superior advice and outstanding customer service, all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Jim Hoyt was good to work with. He knows his trade and was very helpful in making suggestions to help upgrade the project. While we were having the roof replaced we decided to add solar light tubes in the two bathrooms. They came out great and added value to the project. Overall, Jim was good to work with, responded promptly to questions and concerns and the job looks great.

The end of my deck wood was rotting so in addition to fixing that they extended my deck to make it a little larger and added an area just large enough to put my dual grill on so it would be out of the way. They are a small company, very good price, completed the work on time, cleaned up pretty well after the work. I recommend them.

Jim exceeded my expectations in creating a beautiful redwood deck, customized to my request and instead of simply slipping on post base covers, decided to make and install them himself. Everything matches so nicely!

Jim repaired our redwood deck. He got on the job very quickly, explained what he proposed to do, and did what he said he would. He was here when he said he would be, and did an excellent job.

Jim is the owner and the main labor. He is calm and very patient. During the build we had questions, additions and changes come up and Jim said, no problem, this is part of the process. Jim was really helpful, started right away and finished exactly when he said it would be done. Really good service and the craftsmanship was good. Only thing was some of the wood choices were not the most aesthetic pieces of wood.

HB was the most responsive, helpful and professional contractor throughout the bid process (we spoke with about 7 contractors). And the work and results were top notch. The cost was not the cheapest but we thought it was fair based on all the bids we sought and received -- we were not looking for the cheapest; we wanted excellent work, reliability and results, and we got that with HB.

Tore down old 2nd level deck. New stronger posts and framing. Dry underwater diversion below new flooring and railing. Excellent attention to detail.

The service was great, and they were awesome. They did a great job, and I will hire them again.

HB does it all, and they do it well. They buttoned a wonderful deck, and after that we hired them to replace our roof. I value communication and honesty and that’s what you will get with these guys. Once everything is in place the work gets done quickly and efficiently and with quality. I will definitely be contacting these guys for future projects and you should, too.

I couldn't recommend Jim Hoyt with HB Contracting more highly. We recently hired him to complete a total deck/patio remodel and couldn't be more pleased. We had a general idea of what we wanted, but Jim provided invaluable suggestions to help refine our deck plans and has been flexible during the project as we've refined the plans further. His bid for the project was very fair and competitive compared to the other contractors who were interviewed. Jim has been great at communicating throughout the project to make sure we are getting exactly what we want and we couldn't be more impressed with the quality of work that has been done.
