John and his crew were fantastic! They showed up on time, completed the project on time and it looks great. I had quite a bit of gravel removed and new trees, shrubs, and grasses planted.

John is a genius with design!

John put together a fabulous design for our yard. We engaged several different landscape architects and ask them for their vision for our space. John’s was by far the best. He transformed our back yard to an oasis and brought color to the front of our house. His crew was very professional and did a fantastic job. We felt we got our money's worth from start to finish. We highly recommend him for any of your landscaping needs.

John and his team were great to work with! They recently did some significant demo of our backyard and put up a very large/long retaining wall. It was a large project with some tough weather conditions and the Arterra team worked hard to make sure the schedule wasn't impacted by Mother nature. We are really happy in the quality of the workmanship. John is super responsive and professional. His team is friendly and was there on time every day. Thanks for making our backyard look so great!

Patio and front area project. John is a genius with design. Job went well, his work crew great, usually good response and prompt but a few awkward communications regarding plant care, placement, and maintenance which could have been handled with more patience and explanation of what is and is not included in the contract

I liked that John, the owner of Arterra Landscape Design, was so knowledgeable about plants and design and was able to explain why some design elements would work and others would not. He kept me informed of the job schedule and was able to finish the project early. His employees were always on time and conscientious. John put customer satisfaction first. John did an overhaul of our backyard that was filled with landscape rock and devoid of plants. He helped develop a great design and then worked with us to make adjustments to stay within our budget. His crew was hard working and John was there every day to make sure things got done. Even after the project, John has continued to check in on the plants and provide guidance on watering and maintenance.

John has a creative mind & eye, along with knowledge of plants in our environment. we are very happy with the finished product and have received numerous compliments. John had just returned to replace a couple of plants that did not come back this spring.

We needed to get a landscape design done for our backyard and Arterra was the perfect company for us. They were able to take our wishlist and design something beautiful that surpassed our expectations. They happily took our feedback through a couple revisions and delivered a great design in a short time frame.

John and his crew did an outstanding job for us even exceeding our expectations. We had an idea of what we wanted and John helped us see what the possibilities were with a shared vision. He does beautiful plans with drawings that help you see what you’re getting and modify or add to if you desire. We have a patio with a fireplace, garden beds, a dry river bed, walkway and a variety of trees planted as a sort of hedge to add privacy. My wife located John through the county extension office as a referral on landscaping and dry weather plants. I recommend John and we will work with him in the future as the needs or desire for landscaping emerge.

From the start he was excellent. He took our ideas and came up with a plan and offered some of his ideas and suggestions. This was exactly what we wanted. His follow up was also excellent - ensuring all our expectations were being met - which actually far exceeded our expectations . The finished product is absolutely beautiful. We had an excellent experience with Arterra LLC. John was very professional and courteous of our time. I have worked with several contractors that don't show up when they say they will, wasting my time waiting on them, and not completing work in the matter or timeframe promised. I was ready for a battle when we needed landscaping work completed in the backyard of our new construction. I was pleasantly surprised to be kept in the loop by John as the project progressed and to have the project actually finished ahead of my expectations despite weather conflicts. John's team was amazing and has great attention to detail. The team was very friendly and professional. We had a paver patio installed with seat walls and steps, in addition to sod, river rock, lighting, and plants. Everything turned out great and at a reasonable price. We get compliments on our backyard from friends and neighbors frequently. Our builder is known for neglecting compaction around the foundation of their homes (unfortunately). After a week straight of heavy rains, the completed patio and seat walls started to settle around our window wells. John's team had worked hard to compact the ground before putting in the patio, but the heavy rain caused extreme settling around all sides of our home. Limited on the amount of compaction that can be done around the window wells, so as to not cave in or compromise the integrity of the window wells themselves, John's team came back out and worked to sure up the ground around the window wells and fix the patio and seat walls - at no additional charge! I have never experienced such service, especially after a project is completed and final payment is made. It is amazing and seven months later, we have had no issues with the patio or seat walls - both look fantastic! I highly recommend John's landscaping services, especially if you want a headache free process and beautiful result. Things can go wrong during projects, but John has proven he is willing to do what he can (within reason) to make it right so you are satisfied with the end product.

He did landscaping and retaining walls for us. The work was very professional and on time. He has great design ideas. We would highly recommend. He was one of the few contractors that actually didn’t make our home a catastrophe.

We contracted with John Majeski and Arterra landscape company to do a complete makeover of our suburban residential lot after an extensive remodel of the house. He not only provided a thoughtful, custom and practical design plan, but also installed the hardscaping, plant materials, and irrigation system to bring it all to life. His crew was always punctual, and stayed with the job to its completion. John's customer service was excellent, as well as prompt. We are enjoying the results daily!

We enjoyed working with John and his design was fabulously beautiful. We recently had another landscaper come to take down some tress that died last winter, and he said it was the most beautiful design he had ever seen, including his own back yard. High praise indeed!

John did an outstanding job. I am usually not happy with the end of most of my projects with contractors. I got the product I was looking for and he was easy to work with, made adjustments along the way as things materialized. I would definitely recommend him.

It’s a real challenge designing for a small urban space but John showed his creativity with a wonderful design for our newer duplex’s front yard in Platt Park. He beautifully incorporated the architectural features of the house into the beds, expanded front patio entrance and even in the design for the iron fence which we requested. We’ve had many compliments on the yard and have been completely satisfied in the final product and the way it enhanced the look and value of our home.

I was very pleased with the work performed. They took what I told them and turned that into a very nice picture. I would happily recommend John and his crew to anyone. John has a real talent for creating a beautiful landscape.

I had Arterra landscaping work this fall. The work consisted of removing old gravel, installing new plants, trees, shrubs, mulch and a drip system. They did a great job. The crew was fantastic! They showed up on time, completed the work as specified and on budget and everything turned out great. I would highly recommend Arterra Landscape.

John Majeski has exceeded our expectations. He fully landscaped our backyard which backs up to the lake and he did a very nice job. We would highly recommend him again!
