When to Replace Your Roof

Of course, there are the obvious signs it is time to replace your roof, like if the inside of your home gets just as wet as the outside during a rainstorm or if you can see the sun when you look up in your living room. But how do you know when to replace your roof if the signs aren’t so obvious?

Below are a few helpful tips:

  • Asphalt shingles usually have a life cycle of about 20-25 years.  If it has been about that long since you have replaced your roof, it might be time to send an expert out to your home.
  • If all your neighbors are replacing their roofs, it might be a good idea to do yours, as it will help maintain the value of your home.  It may also be a good indicated that your roof might have reached the end of it’s life since most homes in neighborhoods are built about the same time.
  • If your roof is functional, but perhaps has some stains that are affecting your curb appeal, it might be time for a new one, especially if you are looking to sell.
