Local Matters: Colorado Appliance Rebates Four Weeks Away!

by Dave Logan

Hey Colorado! Don’t forget about the mail-in rebate program if you are choosing to upgrade your older appliances with ENERGY STAR® qualifed appliances. The program begins on April 19, exactly four weeks from today. It will continue until available funds are exhausted. Contact the State of Colorado’s Energy Office for more details.

Here is the list of eligible products and rebates available:

  • Refrigerators - $100 with proof of recycling, $50 without proof of recycling
  • Washers - $75 ? Dishwashers - $50 ? Gas storage water heaters - $200 ? Gas tankless water heaters - $300
  • Gas furnaces - $500 ? Gas boilers - $400 As noted above, if you can prove that you recycled your old refrigerator, the State of Colorado will give you a higher rebate amount. Don’t forget to recycle all of your old appliances, however, if you are replacing them.

The state is also offering many rebates for residential energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, so again check out the Colorado Energy Office more details.
